The future of denim
Lab Denim is a bio-technology company at the forefront of innovation in the denim industry.
Our vision is to lead the global denim industry into a new era of sustainable and scalable production.
WE ARE LEADING A TRANSFORMATIVE SHIFT, BRINGING SUSTAINABILITY, INNOVATION, AND EFFICIENCY TO DENIM MANUFACTURING. WITH OUR PATENTED INDIGO-FREE, POST–WEAVE COLORIZATION TECHNOLOGY (PWC), WE ARE SETTING A NEW STANDARD FOR HOW DENIM IS DESIGNED, PRODUCED, AND WORN.
TRADITIONAL DENIM PRODUCTION INVOLVES A COMPLEX PROCESS OF PREPARING COTTON FIBERS TO ACCEPT INDIGO DYE, WHICH USES LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER, ENERGY, AND CHEMICALS LIKE SODIUM HYDROXIDE AND HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. THESE CHEMICALS NOT ONLY POLLUTE THE ENVIRONMENT BUT ALSO POSE SERIOUS HEALTH RISKS TO WORKERS. LAB DENIM ELIMINATES THESE HARMFUL SUBSTANCES AND DRASTICALLY REDUCES THE ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT.
Lab Denim isn't about incremental change, or about doing things a bit better.
We are revolutionizing every aspect of denim production, from designer to customer.
Indigo—Free
Denim
WE HAVE DEVELOPED THE WORLD'S ONLY INDIGO-FREE DENIM WITH BIO FINISHING.
SYNTHETIC INDIGO USED IN MODERN DENIM IS HARMFUL TO OUR WATER SUPPLY AND TO THE WORKERS WHO HANDLE THESE HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS.
OUR DENIM IS PRODUCED USING OVER 90% LESS WATER THAN TRADITIONAL DENIM AND IS FINISHED WITH 100% BIO-BASED CHEMISTRY.
Post—Weave
Colorization
OUR REVOLUTIONARY DIGITAL FINISHING PROCESS RECREATES WEAR PATTERNS AND AGING WITHOUT THE USE OF HARMFUL PETROCHEMICALS LIKE BLEACHES OR DAMAGING TECHNIQUES LIKE HEAT LASERS.
FOR THE FIRST TIME, DENIM CAN BE COLORIZED POST-WEAVE.
IT IS WASTE-LESS AND IT REDUCES MANUFACTURING TIME AND IS BETTER FOR PEOPLE AND OUR PLANET.
Lab Denim's innovative process will set the standard for how denim is made, reducing environmental harm and lead-times, while ensuring brands can meet growing consumer and regulatory demand for eco-friendly products.
